Reefbar Pro Ultra Actinic?!

Does anyone have any experience with one of these? Sick deal, half price compared to reef brite xho plus more leds and added uv/light blue/red or just 445nm blues like reef brite if you want.

I just bought one to supplement my ati sunpower and I need to create a mount (like a reefbrite bracket) as well as possibly switch out the red leds for additional blue (if necessary, I've heard they can overwhelm the uv/actinic/red channel).

Would love to hear from anyone with experience as far as which fixture you have, how it's mounted, and if you like it?!

Thanks!

My friend bought one to supplement his 6 x 24" Sunpower. It looked good to me although he took out the red diodes. He didn't like them.

The reds may not be as intrusive on a longer bar.

He has a Reefbrite on the back & the Reef bar actinic on the front.

I would buy this over a Reefbrite as it only has the 450 blue which can be overbearing and also shift colors of some corals long term.

Cool thanks! Yea everyone I've spoken to removes or blocks the red leds. I agree the reefbar provides a better overall spectrum for sure. I wasn't aware of the color shift thing though, that's very interesting.

Would you mind asking him how he mounted the reef bar to his ati sunpower? I would really appreciate it. The other people I spoke to put it in place of a bulb rather than mounting it externally (like a reef brite) which is what I want to do.

Thanks !

Hi,

I will post some pictures of how I mounted mine. It did it in a crude fashion. But it works.

My fixture is coming today, super pumped. In addition to posting those pics, can you please tell me how you removed the red leds? I've only heard of people blacking them out with spray paint.

Wow, this thing is sick. I just tried it out by holding it above the top of my tank and good lordie does it pop. Sick shimmer and absurd fluorescence. I like the uv/red channel but once you turn it up the red is definitely too much so I'll need to pop those out/cover them for sure. We're you able to take any pics?

Great thanks I'd really appreciate that because I have no idea how I can rig it.

Just a friendly (probably annoying) reminder, I realize I'm not a priority so maybe you forgot haha. Thanks!
