Wavemaker on 60 gallon cube

OK, so I'm frustrated. I have been reading a LOT about the Maxspect Gyre and knew for certain that the Gyre was the solution for me. Then I read that the pulse over time can be hard on the seams of the tank. The last thing I need (read into that the last thing I want to hear my wife yell at me about) is 60 gallons of water all over the floor. My tank is a brand new Marineland 60 gallon cube. Do I truly have a concern or are they just covering their rear?
