Silent pumps?
Hey all, my tank is in my bedroom and I have noticed my rio return pump (2500) is quite loud when I'm trying to sleep. I just made a slient overflow for my tank which is why I notice it now. I was thinking of getting one of those pump pads from bulk reef but I am not sure as to how effective it will be. If its junk then whay pumps do you know of that are the most silent pumps you have ever been around?

DC pumps are extremely quiet, longevity is the unanswered question, but I am using one.

I recently bought a Vectra M1. It is shockingly quiet. I never realize how loud my little giant return was until I upgraded. With stand door closed, the pump is 100% quiet. From my understanding the L1 with higher flow is just as quiet.

Can't go wrong with the Vectra M1 or L1 depending how much flow you want.
