Need help stocking 55 gal reef
So, I have a 55 gallon tank with some coral frags, red bubble tip anemone, 1 clown, 1 diamond back goby, 2 hermit crabs, 1 nassaris snail, and 2 pajama cardinals. I really need a larger fish as it looks pretty empty. I LOVE the Picasso triggerfish, but am worried about its aggressive nature. I also really like the pearlscale butterfly fish and the Valenti puffer. Any advice?

With that size tank, there are no large fish going in there. Trigger, puffer, and the Butterfly is a NO-NO. You can maybe look at some of the Dwarf Angels and make your centerpiece fish. Take a look at the online vendor I provided below and search fish you want. This vendor is pretty accurate for size, behavior, and tank size requirements. Hope this helps.

I second scooter's advice. Those would not be appropriate fish for your system. 55 gallons is not big at all by marine standards and tangs, triggers, butterflys, etc are not going to work.
There are lots and lots of nice fish that WILL work though, so don't despair! |
