Oceanic sump help

I just traded a dragon eye and gold milli frag for this oceanic model 2 sump in pretty great condition and I'm just trying to figure out how to set it up. Has anyone used one before?

That looks like mine
30g with one set of baffles and a bulkhead towards the bottom of the smaller of the 2 sections?
I think you just run your drain through a sock into the big section, with your skimmer. The smaller area has your return pump or you use the bulkhead to connect to an external pump.

bulkhead is on the left side in the picture. yeah I assumed so much. I may not use the bulkhead at all unless I am using an external skimmer?

yeah, if your pump and skimmer are for use in-sump I see no reason not to cap the bulkhead.

Ato. I haven't used one before but I'm interested in trying it on this setup.

Well yeah, a valve needs pressure behind it so you'll need gravity on your side.
My reservoir is not higher than the sump, so I use this one http://www.melevsreef.com/node/684
With a, um I think it's called a solenoid? Like a resistor so all the power from my plug doesn't burn out my floatswitch
