Just setup BioCube 29! Super Excited!
So I just setup my biocube 29....I made some filter modifications, but everything else is stock...Filter mod: removed bio balls and false floor in chamber 2, replaced with 2 eshopps sponge filters combined with a Seachem Matrix biomax (also in chamber 2) and Purigen in the slot where the stock small sponge was located...
To start, I have 31 pounds of live rock, 16 pounds of coarse Carib Sea argonite and 20 pounds of fine Carib Sea argonite. Also filled the tank with Imagitarium pacific salt water from Petco...I know, a lot cheaper to mix my own, but for setup, didn't want to deal with lugging all that ro/di, mixing, etc. will make my own for water changes Sitting here now looking at a cloudy tank and looking forward to the cycle to complete and add a cleaner crew... I have heard varying opinions on when to add the cleaner crew, some as early as one week, others two weeks, others a month...any thoughts??? |

if you bought cured liverocks, test ammonia and nitrite. when they're zero you can add a few of them.
Welcome to RC!

Very nice, after a long absence from the hobby, I'm buiding a Biocube too. Not quite as far along as you though. Still gathering gear and in the process of doing a bleach then vinegar bath on some old, now dry rock from my old system
