The move is almost complete
With the exception of the refugium, which will be a separate entity to both the main tank and the sump, the move from the 55/60 gallon to the 90 gallon (or there a bouts) has been made.
I am really loving the new set up. Its nice and shallow and I don't have to stack rocks as high to get things closer to the light. Love it. Not only that, I can reach the bottom so if something falls over I can fix it. Granted, the tank isn't fancy, and probably one of the very first acrylic tanks made (think it's like 25+ years old, could be older), but boy is it stout. The plexiglass is around 1 inch thick. All the critters are enjoying the new set up. Our new refugium will become both a macro algae and co-pod for, and have a slow drip to constantly feed the copods back into the main tank, as well as save as many copods that go into the overflow as possible. I think the refugium will wind up at about 50-55 gallons. Everything is set up so if the power goes off we have siphon breaks and hopefully no overflowing tanks Any how, here are the pictures. Two of my leathers are still pouting but the rest seem happy. IMG_2830.jpg |
