Not a mosquito, probably a pod of some sort.

Its weird . Gets in the sand and holds on to a shell when i change flow in my tank because it gets blew around.

Mosquitoes don't live in water (the larvae/pupae do though). Besides, it's a shrimp.

it was a joke as to it looks like a mosquito in the face. never seen a boxy shrimp either. looks more like a bug to me.
