Balancing Nutrients
I recently had a large PO4 spike in my display tank when my one Tunze became disconnected and I didnt notice until some of my SPS started losing color. I lost a couple, but was able to get the flow back up and put GFO online as well.
I've been running undetectable PO4 and NO3 for a couple months now. Alot of my SPS and LPS have come back with color, growth and polyp extension. I do have a couple that look like they need more nutrients. I have a frag tank that isnt running GFO and has some PO4 in it. My purple digitata in that tank has full polyp extension where in my display it has no PE and is very dull. There are some other SPS/LPS that look the same. With 0 PO4 and NO3, should I just feed more and keep the GFO online. Or take the GFO offline until I see PO4 rise again? I am currently feeding one cube frozen mysis shrimp with 2"x2" piece of seaweed in the morning and a cube of spirulina brine shrimp with 1/2 cube reef plankton at night. Could I increase feedings? Maybe use an amino acid additive while keeping GFO online? Thank you for your help
