Radion G1 or Rapidled Onyx

Currently I'm running 4 rapidled Onyx dimmable fixtures on my 120 reef (4x2x2). I've also got some Ecotech Radion G1 units with TIR lens upgrades that are not being used. I'm wondering if I should try 2 of the radions instead of the 4 onyx fixtures.

Pros for the radion - only need 2 fixtures; 4 "point" sources of light; have WXM so can run off apex

Cons for the radion - relies on wireless connectivity to apex; no more warranty

Pros for the Onyx - warranty still valid for a few years; just created a rack for them; can control via apex and VDM; less technology to break down/service

Cons for the Onyx - multi leds versus cluster; daisy chained

So what are your opinions? I like the onyx... but will I like the radions better (as-is, I'm not upgrading)? Will 2 of them be better than 4 of the onyx? Or should I just stick to the onyx? Thanks!

I'm not sure you will only need 2 radions. I don't own them, so I can't speak from experience but I bet you'd want 3-4 on your tank. The spread is probably similar in units. Not sure tho,

Corey

Two radions won't replace 4 Onyx fixtures. Maybe 3 of them could work.

Stick with Onyx if they are doing well.

This is where I'm leaning as well. Wasn't sure if 2 radions would provide adequate coverage. Thanks for the comments.
