What the heck is this?
After almost 10 years of reef keeping I don't think I've ever been this stumped. I was looking at my tank with a flashlight and saw these critters swimming around. They're about a centimeter long, have no appendages, and are attracted to the light.
They look like a spiraling piece of rice almost, it's a reef with only cleaner shrimp and some hermits/ emeralds. No fish. I saw a few red, white, and blue colored individuals. Hopefully not a parasite. My best guess is a larvae of some type but I have no idea. Thoughts?

If they are attracted to the light then use a white or clear plastic container and shine the light into the container and they should swim in. Catch em and identify them. I would like to know what they are.

Well, I caught one tonight but it somehow dissapeared between the net and the container. Possibly fell through the netting holes, so close up pics will have to wait. Any more ideas?

I think i read something about the eucinids essentially dissipating when you try and remove them.

Sounds like something from star wars. Think I saw one in the bar scene.
