Ranco w/Apex Users
I currently have my Ranco controller running my Finnex heating tube and it has been reliable (knock on wood) for the past two years. I purchased an Apex about six months ago and I am just now getting around to integrating it into the system,
I currently have my Ranco as the primary with the Apex serving as an emergency shutoff. However, I'm liking the idea of the Ranco serving in the back up role so I can tighten up my temp range from 1 degree to .5 degrees. In order to do that, the Apex will turn on and off the outlet, essentially unplugging and plugging the Ranco numerous times a day.... I'm wondering if this kind of "hard restart" will eventually cause premature failure for the Ranco? As it currently stands, the Ranco is functioning as normal because it has a constant supply of power. Any thoughts?
