Quitest Return Pump Sump Pump

I just wanted to share my long and time consuming (and costly) experience. I have a new tank in my office, 8' from my desk. I work at home. I don't like noise. I like the gentle sound of water though.... so anyway, my new Reefer 450 from Red Sea is here and the LFS recommended a Rio+ 3100, which was plenty powerful but noisy. I was worried, did I blow all this money and have to 'put up with' this noise? So I read and read, and everyone had an opinion. Some pumps say "silent" in their name! yet they make noise. Noise can be subjective (although it can be measured too!).

Anyway, I bought a Waveline DC6000 thinking that's it; added controls, hooked to my Apex. 20% of the noise that the Rio made, but still I could hear it. It was the loudest sound in my office.

Then, I got the Ecotech Vectra M1. wow. The trickle of water across the top of my tank is now the loudest noise. I don't even know there is a pump running. I am VERY HAPPY!! and thought in case anyone else is as nuts as I am about noise; they would appreciate this post. I even made a youtube video
