prevent cycling algae blooms with proper rock cure

im upgrading from a 80gal to 180gal display tank and bought 75lbs of brs fiji dry rock and 25lbs of tonga shelf dry rock. currently i have the rock in a rubbermaid bin with heated saltwater with 2 powerhead. on feb 3rd i started the cure initially i put special blend in the container. i have been doing weekly 100% water changes. im curious if this is the right way to do things in hope of preventing the algae blooms which occur when cycling the tank since i recently just battled of cyano. if not what can i do to set my self back on the right track.
