MP10 on 1/2in glass?

I have a 30 gal and I would like to buy a vortech mp10 but my glass thickness is 1/2in, their website states it should be used on 3/8 glass. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will it work? I could buy a mp40 but Im afraid it would be too powerful and just blow sand every where.

In my experience, an MP10 just barely holds on with 3/8 glass. I had two on the back of my tank and the slightest bump caused them to fall. I'd personally go MP40 and and turn the flow down.

Perfect. Thats what I needed to know. But, with the mp10 being not an option can anyone chime in with their experience with an mp40 in a smaller tank. Is it too much even geared all the way down? I have a mixed reef with a few sps.

I just currently ran into this problem. I tried running my mp10 on 3/4 inch glass it held but it didn't not run. Id stay away from the mp40 if your tank is small I tired that as well and even on the lowest setting it was to much. In my experience id go tunze 6055 its controllable, quite and packs a punch. I purchased 2 units on my build and am in no longer use of one. There is a thread in items for sale if you would like to check it out. Another option would be the gyre 130.

The MP10 held on my 1/2 tank, and it worked, but it moved or fell off very easily. I think i could be done, but I didnt want to risk it.

Ok so no mp10 for sure. Now should I get a mp40 or a gyre 130 for a 30gal tank?

IMO gyre would be a very nice addition to a 30 gallon. And i know from experience that they hold up to 3/4 inch glass. If my tank wasn't so shallow i would have kept mine. there's some serious power and amenities in these units and they def stir things up.
