Pump size for reactors
wondering if you guys who run reactors can clear this up a bit.
Bought BRS mini reactor for carbon, planning on buying their full size reactor later or a TLF Phosban 150. BRS suggests MJ1200 which is rated at 1200litre/hr (Sorry for litres thing, I know u guys use gallons) I need to get a pump though since I am not in US and thought about Sicce Syncra Silent 1.0 or 1.5 and they suggested 1.5 and use the ball valve to control flow. (The 1.5 is rated approx 1500 litres/hr) Reading these forums, how are some guys running their reactors mini or full size with MJ400s? I even read someone running TWO TLF phosban 150 (Carbon and GFO) with an MJ400 and it works fine. The differences between the pumps are huge, not just the flow rates but also their physical size and noise. Just a bit confused and want to clear it up before I buy (there's no refund in Hong Kong). can a Sicce 0.5 (180GPH) do the job for the mini reactor or get the Sicce 1.0 or 1.5 and tee it when I buy my second reactor (whichever brand it maybe) Last edited by boshk; 03/18/2016 at 03:54 PM. |
