Rs-100 Sump water level

I am new to the sump/saltwater hobby and my question is regarding my RS-100 Eshopps sump with my mag 7 return pump. My tank is a 65 gallon reef ready with a 100 Eshopps skimmer. After tank setup, my water level in the return/pump side is no more then 1 inch above water level line, however the water level in the drain/filter sock side is 1-2 inches above the filter sock and overflowing through the emergency holes into the skimmer compartment. It acts almost as if the drain is draining to fast. I took the sock out and cleaned it and the water level seemed to be 1 inch below the top of the sock however after 1-2 days it returns back overflowing. How can I correct this issue?

your socks seem to be getting dirty quick is your water clear?

maybe try a different filter sock brand

or check the filter sock micron size i think some companies make different micron socks
