What's wrong with this coral
It was added to the tank just a few days ago and isn't looking good. Can anyone help tell me what this white is and what may be wrong? Thanks.

Those white things your seeing are Mesenterial Filaments. Do you have any other corals nearby? Something is probably irritating the coral causing it to expel these.

Thanks, there is a small (2") mushroom a few inches below it and a group of small polyps (pipe organ I think) growing from the live rock about 6 inches from that side of it.
Would those irritate it? |

They might... Are you running carbon at all? Sometimes this will help. Being that nothing is in contact with the coral though, seeing these is not really a big deal IMO. They could go away in a matter of hours really, but definitely keep your eye on the coral for the next few days or so. GL.

Acans, favias, micros... will also do this if you brush against them yo hard or handle them to roughly.
