Murderous skunk cleaner?
Hey guys,
I just caught my skunk cleaner eating a torch coral.... omg he's at it again.one sec... 5 minutes ago I saw him rummaging around near the coral. probably inspecting it since it was added to the tank today. As I was watching, he grabbed a tentacle and cut off the top!!!! I scared him away, but if he does it again he is coming out. I lost a hammer last week, i wonder if it was this guy too.

Here's very likely eating something on it?
Spot feed him -- If he's starving he'll try and eat anything. Feed him a couple fish pellets and see if his behavior changes, your tank might be nutrient poor for him |

He's not eating anything on it... he is literally cutting off the heads, they are now floating in the tank :/
I'm gonna spot fed him, but choosing between the two... shrimps going

I would assume the shrimp is not getting enough food. I feed mine by putting a pellet in the palm of my hand and the cleaner shrimp eats it right off of my hand.

I feed all my shrimp before the fish so they don't steal....
Even if I do feed now, is it even smart to keep a shrimp that may destroy euphilia ?

Well, I work up this morning with half my hammer's head gone.
I was doing well so I can't imagine it died due to another reason in the span of 6 hours.

I've caught my shrimp with a neon green mouth before. No idea what hes eating as all my corals look to be quite healthy, but he definitely picks at something once in a while.

Yeah, very odd. Especially since it sounds like you feed them pretty well. I'm thinking you're unlucky and just happened to get a psychotic killer shrimp. Probably had a bad upbringing or something and killed sponges for fun as a wee one and has moved up to corals as an adult.
Get the sucker out of there. |
