Power head required?

Do I need to have a power head in my QT tank? It's a 25 gllon long and I have one small juvenile purple tang in it For 1.5 weeks I've had him in the tank with a heater, hob filter, strong air pump with air stone. I'm wondering if I should add a power head? I plan to at him for at least 4-6 weeks.

You can't house a tang in that small a tank. Yes you need power heads. Saltwater tanks don't use air stones. Check out some of the set up stickys..

That's fine for a QT, you can put a small ph if you want, I don't. Just a skimmer for a bit of flow but mainly for aeration. PH give you aeration by air water interaction (waves) but you are using an air stone which is fine in a qt but not for a DT, you get salt creep using them.

hmm as long as its tiny (less then an inch) then 1,000 gal should be fine for QT.

Back to the OP, a power head isnt necessary. It can be added but you'll be fine without one.
