Does my cleaner shrimp carry an anemone on its leg?
Hi all,
Need your input. I just observed a strange thing on one of the leg of my cleaner shrimp. And maybe more clear here: Here is a zoomed in version of the same picture: Sorry, I have no better quality at the moment as I just quickly took it before the lights went off and I need desperately go to bed. I'm not sure what it is and I don't have an idea what to do. Should I try to remove it? Or should I just leave the shrimp to it and it will be fine as it would be removed at it's next shedding anyway (they seem to be shedding quiet regularly)? Could it be one of these: Just smaller and not as grown? I assume it is a Corynactis.

Thanks Dkuhlmann,
I think you are correct. It was quiet the shock yesterday after a 2 day business trip Not sure it was still there this morning. Not a huge fan of these ball tip anemones, they grow everywhere. At lease they only come out in the night and don't disturb anything as of yet. The shrimp seemd rather ok with it.

I don't think, cleaner shrimps normally carry those things around. I call them the boars of my reef. They run around and have absolutely no care if they disturb any of their neighbours...
