Dry rock curing
30 lbs of dry rocks from reef cleaners in new tank since April 1st. Initially used Dr. Tim live bacteria to seed rocks. As of today ammonia and nitrite is zero. Seeing small patches of brown spots all over rocks. Are they cyano? What does this mean and how should it be treated?

It's probably diatoms. Should go away on its own in a few weeks. They need silica, which comes in the rock and sand but doesn't really get added after the initial setup. You can blow it off with a turkey baster while running a filter sock to speed up exhaustion.
