Removing Euro Brace?
So I just got a second hand tank and for some reason I didn't notice how bad the bracing was built on this tank.
I was wondering if it's possible to remove the bracing and leave it as a rimless tank? I've seen tanks with the same dimensions (36x36x18) without the bracing and also noticed the brace almost looks like it was added in later as it has a horrible silicone job compared to the silicone done on the tank walls (almost like I did the job ) + a different coloured silicone. Its "eurobraced" but looks really shifty... obviously DIY bracing. Safe to remove or no? |

Which thickness is enough to take off the brace?

The glass panes are 10mm thick. So would I be safe to remove the bracing?

I personally would not remove the eurobrace and go rimless. There is a reason why someone put the brace on there, wether it was because they removed they original placstic brace because they didn't like the look. I just do not see someone going through the trouble of adding a euro brace if it was not nessacary.
