ALK turned to powder in Sump
Not sure what to do about this or why it happened. Using BRS soda ash and just turned the doser on. It dripped down and created a large pile on the bottom of my sump. Is this something to be worried about. Should I get a powerhead and blast it?

Very common. Try to suck it out. Not a big deal but better to just remove

Should dose into a high flow area.

+1, if you don't dose in a high flow area the localized high concentration of alkalinity will cause calcium precipitation, lowering both your useful alkalinity dosage and calcium levels.

Dose into the return area. Not directly right over the pump but in an area the pump draws water from. Or into the area where 1 section of water flows into another. Also helps if the doser is dosing slowly.
