Elos Calcium and magnesium tests

I have a new tank that is 4+ months old and doing well. Have a few corals sps and lps. I bought New Elos test kits and done 2 tests of calcium and magnesium. I done both tests correctly and both tests never turned color after the droppers were empty. This means my calcium and mag are off the chart. Why? I don't have anything to use the calcium as my corals are just frags. Is their another explanation? Jim

There has to be some user error at play.

I once thought my Alk was at toxic levels until I realized I wasn't adding the reagent, I was using the reference solution they shipped with my Salifert kit.

I take it that you aren't manually adding in mag/cal? What brand of salt are you using?

I'm using reef crystals and am adding nothing else. I'm pretty sure I followed the directions correctly twice with same results.

I've used salifert tests over the last several years but decided to give elos a try.

This is very strange.
Can you please give me the batch numbers written on the bottles of both kits?

Nick

After testing with the elos cal and mag kits a couple more time both tests performed as they should. I guess I was not dripping the solution correctly.
