The IM is so much better made than the JBJ, if you have the chance to check them out in person you would see. I had the JBJ 30 and it is pure junk, the glass is thin and really not that clear, the black trim doesn't wear well. The pumps run very hot, the top doesn't fit if you plan to use them, they are too short and are frankly dangerous of dropping them in the tank. The media baskets are useless and would have to be replaced. The stand is the worse I've ever seen, completely flimsy and doesn't wear well.

Excellent. Thank you for the feedback. I was leaning towards the I'M but heard the stand was. Not the best

The innovative marine seems to have great specs.

On BRS the stand is no longer available for the 40IM cube. Anyone bought from saltwateraquarium.com

I was lucky to find a local guy that builds custom stands, he built the ones for my 90 and 210. A bit more expensive than the pre fabs but better. You might want to check locally if you could find someone to build a stand.

I have a JBJ RL45 and the build quality seems great. However, if I had it to do over again, I would never do an rear sump AIO again. Such a pain in the a$$ to have everything in the back. I'm seriously thinking about upgrading soon to an AIO with the external sump like the CAD Lights 45 Shallow.

Another thing I should pass along is that (at least in the case of the JBJ) its 45G overall volume including the rear chamber, not 45G display. And really its about 40G (30 in the front, 10 in the back)...before adding rock. Whereas the CAD lights tank mentioned above is 45G display, plus sump. I've never had a fish tank of any kind before this one, so chalk it up to a newbie mistake...still, really wish I hadn't missed that.
