Closed System question

So new to the hobby, setting up a 29 Biocube. I have read about the closed system set up which I REALLY like. My question is with this system, can you still have a refugium? Can someone please explain to me a little more about a closed system working in tandem with the filtration system?

Also, what pump would you recommend for a 29 gallon tank?

Thank you.
Lee

I'm not too sure what you mean by "closed" system. All of our systems are essentially closed. Do you mean closed loop circulation? Although you could set up a small system that way it would be major overkill.

A closed loop system is for flow, which can easily be accomplished with a powerhead in a small system
