Anyone use the Trigger Crystal Elite 30?
Hey all -
I'm in the process of upgrading from a 36 bowfront to a 75 predrilled and am looking at this sump. I originally had chosen the 36 sump model, but the refugium seems bigger in the 30 elite and I'm trying to hide 2 ehiem jager 150 heaters from being in the DT. I'll admit, I'm pretty new to this whole process...I used a hob AquaClear for my 36 and have no experience with sumps...so it's learning as I go. Trying to figure out the plumbing and everything else. Does anyone have this sump? What do you think of it? Got any pics of the setup? Much appreciated ya'll! |

I have the Ruby 36 on my 135g tank, I love it. I was debating on the elite, but in the end the regular is cheaper and gets the job done all the same. With the elite you do have to run a separate drain into it, so three drains instead of two going into the sump, and a valve to control the flow to the fuge section. I have my skimmer in the first section, fuge setup in the second, and return pump in the third. if you go with the 36 instead of the elite, you will have a bit more water volume. The other thing with the elite, the fuge is narrow, so the light choice you can use without much spilling over to the other sections is limited.
