I'm currently cycling my tank and have the same thing but yea its normal. It will probably get worse before it dies off.

diatoms will come and go over the next 6-12 months. after that you will rarely if ever see them again.

cloudy water is generally caused by a bacteria bloom. This can be cleared up by a UV sterilizer, Carbon, and water changes. (Carbon is your best bet)
