Raising KH? - Please help
Is it correct that one can use regular Baking Soda dissolved into water to raise Alkalinity of the water? I ran a suite of tests on the water today and things look good except for KH. The KH test came back at around 110 or 120 which I think correlates to a dKH of around 6 which from what I've ready is low.
We've been experiencing a number of fish going missing or finding dead (about 3 over the last week). The fish have been behaving and eating normally but overnight have been dying. Is it accurate that I can add 1.25 tsp of baking soda dissolved per day to raise the Alkalinity? I don't want to go adding something to the tank and risk killing more fish. ![]() Thank you in advance! |
