Reefapalooza NY. Good place to buy a tank?
Hello friends.
I am looking to buy a tank + stand in the 50-60 gallon range. Considering SC Aquariums or CAD Lights Versa or Red Sea Reefer. I have never been to a Reefapalooza before, and was wondering I should wait till the show to order an aquarium. Do people get good deals? or is it mostly for livestock and other equipment? Thank you so much for your help friends. ! |

if its close its worth a trip just to check stuff out but they are usually for livestock. I go to the Orlando one every year. I don't recall anyone selling a tank at this years shows. there are tank companys there showing off there product but I don't believe they where offering a discount. I do know you can usually win one in a raffle.

honestly if you are considering SCA or CAD lights, SCA wins hands down. the tanks are virtually identical, but 1000% better customer service. I say give SCA a call and see if Steve can work you up a deal, then if you are going to Reef-a-Palooza (I am ), then you can get equipment and gear.

Honestly, avoid CAD at all costs. They ripped me off on a $25 pump. They sent me an old beaten up pump. I tried to get them to send me a new one. Ultimately I just gave up and took the $25 hit. I will never buy anything from them again.

Hello. Thanks for the feedback. How do I contact Steve from SCA? Does he have a profile here where I can PM him?

If you call the phone number on their website he's always been the one to answer when I've called. I don't believe they are on this forum.

I was torn between a custom rimless or the Reefer 525... The custom way is nice if yo want something to fit a spot at your house, but after checking these Red Sea tanks, realized they are as well manufactured as it can be with all included...cant beat the price/value IMO.
I would check them at Reefapalooza. Red Sea's customer service is also excellent. worth checking before buying elsewhere |
