Magiquarium™ A Digital Reef Tank

OK here goes! I just bought a 110 gal. tank and it's been cycling with rock in it for one week. I'm a total newbie... Lesson #1: PATIENCE... agh! But here's the thing. I recently got a commission to do an art installation in the Fall. I like working with moving images. And there's nothing quite like the beauty of a reef tank with some tropical fish. So I am plunging in to the aquatic adventure!

This website is amazing and I will be using it quite a bit along with my LFS. How did we do anything before the internet???

Anyway, I'm calling this project Magiquarium™ and the final installation in the Fall will be a digital version of the tank using some new technology that just came on the market this spring.

Here's a video clip of my first stab at the .

Just got home and saw these brown spots, kinda furry, maybe they were green, but I'm thinking algae? Good? Bad? Guess I'll find out.

I was going to post a picture but apparently that's too complicated for me. I'm going to go dig out my computer science textbook from 1985. It's probably in the chapter on Social Media. (I'm not making fun of the interface, I really do have that textbook)

Today my ammonia was high. And got some advice about rock placement on this forum. So I'm going to reconfigure the aquascape so I can get a scrubber on all the surfaces. Right now the rock is leaning on the right side for stability. Also found out about underwater epoxy.
