Thumbs up Skimmer Selection Help Please

I am planning the build of a 525xl reefer aquarium which will be run on aqua forest probiotic method. Having chosen the equipment for efficiency and performance I am having a dilemma. The Skimmer. I want a skimmer that is beyond the size of the tank. My shortlist Deltec SCC2061 or Coral Box Cloud 9.

Both have similar capabilities (on paper).

Should I go for the cheaper option at 245.00 or pay the premium for the deltec at 575.00.

Deltec performance is not in question but I have read decent reviews on the cheaper model.

Would an investment in the cheaper one be a poor move.
Thank you

I don't have any experience with those mentioned, but I am a big fan of Aquamaxx. I am currently running the Cone CO-3 on my 120. Of course, topics like this will get different opinions and experiences.

I agree, I love my AquaMaxx skimmer. I use an EM-200 (predecessor to the newer CO-2) on my 120 and it does a great job. Be sure the skimmer you purchase has a good quality pump, that is often what drives the price difference. AquaMaxx uses quality Sicce pumps, reliable, efficient and very quiet. I would avoid skimmers that use proprietary pumps as parts can be hard and expensive latter when you need them

I personally just got a Simplicity skimmer because money was tight and just needed something and it's honestly the best skimmer I've ever owned I've had corallife,lifereef,Aqua-c,asm, and now this one build quality is great and the dc pumps are so much nicer as far as sound and adjusting goes and it's way more energy efficient
