Petco dollar per gallon June 26- August 8. Up to 55 g.

Hey. Saw they had the sale again. Here is the window flyer from a store in Phoenix (Happy Valley). I am sure it's nationwide again.

This is accurate. I've seen posts on Facebook where people showed their receipts for 75g tanks for $75. That is an amazing deal.

Why is Petco the worst store until they have this sale?

Different people have different opinions. I have no issues with Petco myself. My local store has knowledgeable employees. I assume the people that don't like Petco avoid this sale.

They seem to have a high turn over, very seldom do you meet the person in the fish department that's in the reef hobby.

I got lucky. I was at a reef store looking for a 40 gallon breeder tank. I try to patronize this store when possible as they keep a nice reef tank. However, I couldn't get them to help much and the last tank was a "kit" they built and wouldn't separate it despite the 110.00 price tag clearly on the label for,the tank. They indicated they could order me one and I was like just give me that one and replace it. No go. Long story short - not the best customer service.

I sucked it up and left and decided to see if Petco had one. $40.00 later I left with my breeder tank. Happy to have found the tank I needed and saved 70 bucks. I didn't feel bad as I got crappy service at the reef shop. I won that day!

No harm in calling and asking the store. Most of the time these are nationwide with same dates I think.

It is rare but they do exist. I just bought a 55g as a sump for my 125 I am setting up. The employee was very interested and completely understood what I was doing.

None are pre-drilled. And depending on what glass was used (google how to check for tempered glass)you can drill yourself.

Exactly. As J. Stewart once put it. Its like driving 2 hours of nothing but cows and farms then BAM Happy Valley with 40K college kids!!!

As for the sale I need another 40 breeder so this works out perfectly for me.

I think the wife hides any flyers that come to the house about the sale just so I dont buy more tanks.

I know you are joking but our local flyer said tanks were 10% off and the online flyer says 10% off. In store it is $1/gallon. I'm not sure why they aren't advertising it properly.

Picked up a 40 Breeder and a couple 10 gallons (I think I am starting to have a problem).

The 40g Breeder was $129 retail. $40 you can't beat.
