Dino help!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to rid a reef tank of dinoflagellates? I have tried dosing with hydrogen peroxide, 3-day tank black-out, and finally dosing with Dino-X. I has gotten a LITTLE better, but not much. Very frustrated at this point. I am ready to bleach the tank and sell everything if I cannot get it done!!!!!

Algae-fix. Just pour it in. Don't bother measuring...

How is that better or different than Dino-X?

I wouldn't go with algeafix it is not for dino. There have been quite a few people with no signs of Dino that used algeafix for somthing else & had a big Dino bloom afterwards. The thought was that it kills a lot of the micro fauna and other things that competes with Dino.it takes different approaches to get rid of the different strains of dino. Some people have success with Dino-x and others like myself it didn't do anything. They have as much information as u will find in the thread vhuang 168 linked to. Most people are having success trying to outcompete it which algeafix will do the opposite.

I am now in my second run of dosing with the Dino-X. (SIGH) Not much happening. This might drive me to getting out of this hobby.

I have, once again, covered my tank with black trash bags for another shot at a mulit-day blackout. I am still dosing with the remains of the Dino-X (following their instructions of no UV light, GFO, or activated carbon). I also placed an order for Metroplex from Seachem with hopes of trying and get this CRAP under control. I think this is my last attempt, as I have been battling this stuff for almost a year straight now, with NO success.

Dino x 100% works. Syphon out all of the dino, black it out and dose the dino x ask at the same time... And i mean black out, like trash bags around the tank, not just the lights out. I had to do this for 2 different tanks, works ever time. I actually black out for 5 days

If I syphon out the dinos, I have to add water back into the tank. Wouldn't that be adding trace elements back into the water column and feeding the dinos? This is the second go-around dosing with Dino-X. Tank has trash bags around it.

What i do is i turkey baste all of the rocks and sand, and then net it out because you need that water to remain. Just blow it all over the place and then net as much as possible.

I've been doing that as well as installing a 200 micron filter sock in my sump to catch all other floaters.

I am getting small bubbles in my tank. Does anyone know how to get rid of them, or why they are showing up? What can I look for?
