New protien skimmer
So I set up my tank and just put the protien skimmer in. It is a skimz sk181. So I set it up and when I turned it on it was super noisy. I previously had a ten gallon and never used a protein skimmer so I am not familiar with them. So the noise is coming from the air line tubing. The air goes down the tubing and into the pump. I'm guessing the way the skimmer works is air and water get sucked into the pump simultaneously creating bubbles? Well that is what it's doing, but the noise is super loud coming from the pump from the air getting mixed in with the water. The pump is silent when I cut all the air out, so I don't think it's defective. And yes the water level is at the correct hight.

There should be a silencer at the top end of the airline tubing. Look up picture to make sure your skimmer is complete
