Stocking Order
My 120 gallon fowlr is nearing the end of the cycle and I am thinking of stocking the tank with the following
2 clownfish 2 chromis 1 yellow tang 1 coral beauty 1 raccoon butterfly I know I'm going to start off with the clowns but what is the best order to stock the rest of the fish? Also is this a good bioload for a reef octopus bh2000 hob protein skimmer, an aquaclear 110 which I will use to house 2 bags of clear FX pro carbon media, 100 lbs of dry rock, and 80 lbs of dry sand? Yes my tank is sumpless. I will also be dosing prodibio biodigest once every two weeks. |

I would go with this order, but in a 120 I don't see an issue with adding the clowns first. There is likely going to be some skirmishes between the clowns and Chromis, but they should be able to find enough room to co-exist.

I have not had good luck with keeping multiple chromis. I think you will really enjoy the coral beauty.

I would do at least 5 Chromis. With 2, you will be down to 1 very shortly.

I bought 3 chromis in july 2015 and lost one that went through my overflow a month later (died due to its injuries). I have had two for the last 11 months with no issues at all.
