Will a 24inch t5 light fit on a 30inch long tank?
I have a buddy who is selling a 24" t5 fixture. So the bulbs are 20". Would that be too little light on a 30" tank?

I use a 24" T5 fixture for the 30" tank just fine. The better 4 bulb fixtures will be just fine and a 6 bulb fixture would be even better. I use a 6 bulb 24" ATI fixture and I keep everything from SPS to LPS on the bottom.

I too have used a 24" light on a 30" tank. The main thing is how deep is the 30" long tank?
