Coral Beauty dead

Last week,I put a CB in a 20 gal QT along with 2
1 inch chromis, 1 clown and 2 blennies.
Yesterday I found the CB had died.
The only thing I did different was add Praz
All the other fish are doing well.
Are chromis tath aggresive ?

Sometimes fish just die for no reason or be really stressed from shipment. Was there any irregular behavior or signs of illness? Could possibly be Brook or Urenoma with the Clown and chromis in the tank.

Did you have a powerhead pointing up or ayirstone for surface agitation? Prazi depletes the water of oxygen and the CB might have not been getting enough oxygen.

To me that seems like a lot of qt buddies in there. notice any aggression? I would lower the amount of fish in QT.

I noticed no lithargy, flashing or lack of appitite. There are 2 OTB filters with cycled sponges, use prime and have air stone and power head so O2 is not a problem.
The chromis are swimming good on top third, the blennies hang in the pvc and the clown just goes were he/she feels like.
That was 8 inches of for 20 gal or 2.5 gals per fish which seemed fine to me

My CB kills anything smaller than her so I'm thinking she was able to hold its own with them.

That's what I was thinking myself. That's way too many for that small of QT tank. Ammonia can become toxic very quick in a QT tank since most QT tanks aren't cycled. Some fish can handle Ammonia spikes and some can't very well. One thing I have learned in this hobby over the years. Patience and lots of them and slow and steady. Rushing things just end up burning you in the end.

No clue how the OP QT tank is setup or testing of water.

6 fish in a cycled 40 would be a heavy biology itself.

Thanks for your view.
Just for future reference what is the safe stocking rate for a 40 gal tank?

I'm sorry you missed that in post 6 and also that both of the sponges in the 2 filters were 0 ppm ammonia and 0 nitrates.
