MP 40 placement

I bought 2 MP 40s for my 215 reef tank. I assume ideal placement on either side of the tank is preferable. The tank is against a wall and unfortunately is just shy of having enough room to fit in one side without cutting into sheet rock. I could place the pump on that side in the back of the tank so it blows at a 90 degree to the one on the other side. Willing to cut sheet rock as in back room with display showing on other side of wall but not certain if it makes a big difference on placement. Would appreciate thoughts.
