Pencil urchin

I have a new urchin... I believe it's a pencil urchin, he's in hiding so unable to get a pic.

Just now finding out they can eat corals. If and when I catch him, if I put him in my sump you think he'll live? No refugium just a sump with chaeto and some detritus in it.

How big is your sump? Do you have any baffles?

First compartment holds around seven to ten gallons, this is where my filter sock is, second is same volume and where chaeto is, third is pump area and forth is evaporation tub which gets no current and water level decreases as time goes on.

After looking at the schematic above and what you said, I wouldn't do it. I think you would be better off just trading it in at the LFS for some food or something. Don't get me wrong though it can be done, but it just sounds more like jail than anything else. I think the Urchin would be much happier in a tank where it can roam freely as opposed to bouncing off the walls in the sump.
