Marine pure blocks and plates

I'm considering adding the plates to the bottom of my sump. Who else uses them? And where have you placed them?

I have a couple in the corner of my sump. There are varying opinions on their effectiveness. I will say the plates tend to break during shipping so I would suggest getting the blocks if you want them to stay intact.

Thanks. I thought plates due to the size they take up. Will see if I can get them from a local shop. BRS showed a video of them covering the bottom of a sump. I was considering doing the same.

I have a minimalistic rock set up so I use them in my sump for more surface area. I placed them in my refugium section. I have plates on the bottom and then the spheres on top along with rubble. so far so good.

I'm considering them also and I have heard not to rest pumps or skimmers on them as the vibration will cause them to break down.

I ended up using the spheres. The blocks just break. I put them in the first chamber of my sump that gets fed directly from the tank, now I see all kinds of sponges, pods and other stuff in that chamber on the spheres.
