Beware Vertex!!!

Hello.
Unfortunately I am forced been writing this post.
I tell you from the beginning, as many of you know I have a skimmer alpha Vertex 250 as well, is that the collection cup is completely cracked at 6 months of having the skimmer.
I am contacting my local store and commented the case, this in turn informs the distributor of Vertex which tells that is produced by the use of ozone "no ozone use" in any case the skimmer has an entry for ozone.
After giving many explanations Vertex distributor tells us that the skimmer is under warranty and takes care of the problem. What is my surprise that after 5 months of waiting to replenish me collector skimmer vessel called me responsible for my local store telling who called the dealer Vertex saying no is responsible for the replacement of the collector vessel skimmer.
I feel obliged to denounce this problem and comunicaroslo all of you to not trust in this brand because not comply with the guarantee of their products.
I thought buying a skimmer 1200 € these problems would be solved but it is not seen.
Unfortunately this kind of things happen and some dealers hides problems that arise before us.
Luckily he has not been skimmer pump.
Thank you very much
A greeting

while Vertex makes some good items, i think most people know they are a "shady" group when it comes to service.

Sounds to me like the OP never actually heard from Vertex the company. Sounds like he has been dealing with a distributor. Hase he tried to contact the company? Who was this distributor? When things like this happen, it's hard to know if the company is even aware of the complaint.

I stopped reading after a few sentences.

The Vertex crew out here in Cali are a good group of people. Nothing "shady" about them.

I saw the title and thought he was warning Vertex about something. Perhaps I am just getting old.

I have had very good experiences with vertex here in Canada. Nothing bad to say at all. I have dealt directly with the folks in California as well and they were awesome.

OPs in EU. For the most part EU CS mentality is completely different than American. In other words, they really could care less. But it does sound like the OP was told to pound sand by the distributor and not by Vertex itself. I bet an email to the US Vertex would get him squared away by Vertex Germany.

Hi.
I informed Vertex of the problem by mail and have not yet been answered.

Vertex skimmers do not recommend because of it.
It is a pity that such good teams do not have coverage.

They have not solved my problem do not know because the plastic is agritan think with a skimmer guarantee deverian responding.
What I report here is that they do not respond to a problem.

Aún sigo esperando respuesta por parte de Vertex.
No.me explico, unos equipos tan buenos y que no se hagan cargo de sus garantías.
En españa eso es delito.
Un saludo

Lol. Have you been to Spain? Their Spanish is not the same as here in the new world. Especially in the Barcelona area.

I understand minimal Spanish and can understand it just fine.

My guess is the cup has crazed. It can also happen due to bad acrylic and thermal changes. Good luck, continue to contact the company.
