tank update re:dosing sugar soft corals

well sad to say but leather coral didnt survive but after a week and 2 small water changes which both done with tap not deoizonized ..total 8 litres max in a 37 litre tank..wanted to see if id get a nitrate reading but tap tested 0 when i made up the saltwater ..i added a new hard coral and crossed my fingers ..it has been ok and my other hard coral i moved up higher and it has opened more ..not so much flow...the water looks glistening clean all tests good ..now im still left wondering when my tank will be safe for soft leather corals ...how do i test for that ...unwilling to buy one just to see..

Once the tank is fully cycled you can start adding corals/fish,etc...
