Wxm or reeflink?
I can always duplicate the coral lab settings with the wxm but just want to choose the more reliable consistent option. Anyone have any recent experience with both of em?
Thanks |

I have the Reeflink and like it. It is pretty much program and forget once you have it tweaked the way you want it. I don't even have it in the same room as the tank. No issues with communication with the pumps at all. From what I understand the new return pumps can only be controlled via reeflink. I don't have Apex so I cannot confirm this.

Personally, I would use the WXM. WXM will allow you to control both the Radions & Vortech pumps which really eliminates the need and value of the Reeflink. Having a single interface for all aquarium related stuff is very convenient and makes it simple include those devices in your Apex programming Whether it's feed timers for Vortechs or turning your lights on after hours, the single interface & Apex app if you have an iPhone is a great convenience.

I have Radions and MP40's. I have used the Apex and WXM for years. That said I just bought a reeflink.
My thoughts: WXM + Apex = 1 control panel. Big plus On a basic level WXM is easier to program for MP40 and Radions. Reeflink You can control overall intensity and brightness. Makes it more complicated but gives more control. WXM only controls one. Reeflink Acclimation mode is nice. (manual in WXM) Reeflink storm and cloud modes implemented better (its a gimmick yeah but it never quite worked right with WXM even using profiles) My Reeflink has never not worked for me. WXM will loose something from time to time. Others may not have same experience. I see a lot of reeflink disconnects but not me. WXM costs more (at the time I bought the Reeflink) Reeflink Lunar phases timed to moon phase. (Gimmick but cool) WXM wont control vectra and who knows what else in future. I couldn't calibrate my radions with WXM. When I attached them it would loose it. I could notice the difference in the lights on WXM when they were dim in the beginning and end of the lighting day. Calibrate works perfectly in Reeflink I personally like Reeflink better for Radions mainly because of the gimmicky stuff altho acclimate mode is golden. Apex doesn't control the Vectra and since its on my want list that's a future problem if I get rid of the Reeflink one day. Really the question is do you want 1 or 2 control panels. I don't mind 2 for now. I tend to only use reeflink if I am doing something to my lights which is rare. Even tho my Mp40's are on the reeflink I can just cut them off from the EB8 outlet when I activate feed modes. |
