AI PRIME settings
I've had an AI prime for about a year now. Trying to find correct settings (or at least opinions) on if I am using enough light or not.
I have a JBJ 45 with prime on arm approx 10 inches from surface. My light setting peak for 4 hours/day at: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx...3I3dzNxVGI2SHM I've seen people with UV all the way up at 60. Red all the way up, etc. On 45g or even smaller. My LFS tells me not to go above 5% UV. Said red and green are for human eye only and tank/corals don't need. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks! |

How long have you been running your tank? No algae or coral bleaching issues?

The UV LEDs on the hydra and prime are 400 nm which is just barely considered UV. That, and they're only 1 LED per light puck and use significantly less power proportionally than the whites and blues. IMO, you're going to run into issues running the whites and blues high before you have issues with the UV. I have 2 hydra 26 HDs on my tank and run the UV between 80 and 90 no problem.

My prime settings are All blues and violets at 100% red and green at 25% and white at 40-60%. I have a jbj 30 that's been running for 1yr and 3 months. These are the settings I run for my growth period from 12-4pm

I also run high blues uv and violet. Red and green don't go above 15%.
