tunze 9001 skimmer???
I got this skimmer 2 months ago. I have it in the first chamber of my solana 34g.
I thought this would be an upgrade from my old style 9001 skimmer, but I'm not so sure. This thing makes so many micro bubbles that they cause a huge air pocket under my filter floss that is in the second chamber. This eventually will slow down the flow through my sump area. They are also blowing all over my tank. Seams to make ok skim but I'm not very impressed. Has any one had this problem? this thing was 120$ i feel like it should be better. |

i use them in a frag tank, quite an impressive little skimmer. you most likeleyjust need to raise it a bit and tune the air intake, once you get it right it works quite well. good luck zsu

I have it set at the little line on the side. I guess I need to raise it? I messed with it yesterday and it's better. I put filter floss around that little cover on the bottom. Seams to catch the bubbles better.

Are you sure the skimmer has broken in yet? It's not uncommon for new skimmers to release microbubbles for up to a month after being put into use.
