Diy typhon problem for arguing diyers
Hi guys, hoping someone can help, I setup the typhon controller as per the diagrams etc and uploaded the code however when switched on it goes nuts. The first screen comes on 'typhon controller' but then it seems to cycle through all the menus really fast and seems to be altering values. It just continually cycles. Hope u guys can offer some help.

My best guess...One or more of your buttons is "floating", causing the constant roll through the menu. IIRC the buttons are to be pulled low with 10k resistors.

I thought this may be the issue also, however i have disconnected the buttons and just have the screen attached with the same issue.

Disconnecting the buttons doesn't prove or help anything. Unless the button input pins on the Atmega chip are held low by pulldown resistors, the input pins will continue to "float" and the scrolling menu will continue. You need to grab a VOM and do some checks....
The buttons are supposed to pass a 5v signal to the Atmega when closed (pressed). Other than when the buttons are pressed, the input pins on the Atmega chip should be connected to ground through the 10k ohm "pulldown" resistors.
