also how long does it take a dsb to work(57 gallon tank in last picture has 190 lbs of sand 7 inches)
my nitrates where at 50ppm
then i added macro algae and dsb its been 10 days, they seem lighter but not quite light enough to be 25ppm

also corals all open and look healthy, i thought 50ppm would kill lps and my green slimmer

I had trouble with detritus sitting on top the dsb when i tried to do fuge on top of the bed .From my bad experience and reading on here. you might want to remove that rock rubble from the sump and put in in the fuge tank on raised up egg crate then the macro plants on the rocks..

Put the DSB IN BUCKETS in the sump next to the skimmer . For me it seems to be working better this way..

If you have issues with dsb or they get too bad you can dump one of them and restart it without tearing the whole thing apart..

mY Mixing tank gets quite dirty from mixing salt. deposits all over it. once a year i clean it with vinegar . so i would keep it separate from the other ato and ro di storage tank .

But its looking awesome....a lot of water..

The rock in there was just extra rock. The dsb tank is more of a display Marco tank. No cheato or calurpa Mermaid fans stuff like that.

I was going to buy just one but the lfs gave me one for free so for 700 for 2 tanks with oak stands I had to get both.

Man, you are an addict. My wife would probably make me sleep with the fish if I try something like that.

What is that light setup in the first picture? Is that for the main tank?
