I have had nothing but trouble with these lights, firstly the unit didnt come with tubes as it was supposed to, then the circuit board blew in a puff of smoke. Had a new one installed and same thing. Lucky I quickly turned the light off when I saw some smoke so hopefully no more damage.

I am now seriously considering returning for a full refund - which I think I will have to fight Sewatec for.

Seriously annoyed at spending so much for something that is faulty.

Wow! What a shame.

On the dimable sunpower there is no bulky box either.

Gess that's no good about the lights.Ive had no trouble at all on 3 X 4 foot units. Was it to do with the dimming side of things?

Look for Giesemann Futura BT as the Matrix II uses the same software/App

Wow.. I have been running the non-dimmable 6 lamp version for a few weeks and it has been great. I wonder if something happened in shipping.. They looked like they packed it well...

Giesemann sent me a new board and ballast which im waiting to have installed...this one was imported so I decided to buy ANOTHER one of these ones locally to save time with the repairs etc...and guess what the local one blew up too! So now I have two of these paperweights sitting in my place waiting for repairs.

Do you have a tank build thread? What are the tank dimensions? How did you do your aquascape? It looks awesome!

Where is the electricity line on this fixture?
is the electricity line going behind the tank or along the hanging lines from the ceiling?

Wow that's crazy. I've only had mine for a few weeks, but its been great so far. Mine is the 8x54w Dimtec version. Wonder if the problems exist on the 8x80w fixtures.

That is a really nice tank! Who made it? Nice scape too. Good ratios about the whole setup. That light looks crisp too.
